THE jogger

If you follow me on instagram, snapchat or facebook; you probably know that one of my favorite plus size retailers flew me out of Phoenix last week for a photo shoot with three other gorgeous plus size women. It was truly a fantastic experience, to say the least. One of the best parts of my day was connecting with women of different backgrounds and chatting about body positivity. Each of us shared our own perspective and it was truly an amazing experience – but you’ll read all about that on another day.

From the moment I laid eyes on her, I knew she was the designer – she was dressed impeccably well in a Ted Baker sweater, tailored navy slacks, gorgeous nude pumps, a long cream coat [that I would literally kill for] and the most beautiful earrings I’ve seen in a long time. Meeting IGIGI’s designer, Erena Shklovsky, was a truly special experience. She is not only beautiful and charismatic, she is also a seasoned designer. As the previous head designer for Jessica McClintock dresses for over 20 years, she knows exactly how to design dresses for every woman. She spoke of designing clothing that would transform a woman: to elevate her day, to inspire her and to remind her how beautiful she is. We talked about our favorite designers – and about where IGIGI is heading, as a brand. I’m so very excited to see what lays ahead in the coming year! IGIGI is the brand to keep on your radar.

Erena told me about these joggers, and I’m so happy she did. I’ve bought so many jogger pants online in the past couple of months – only to be disappointed by the fit and or the quality of the garment #IRL. I had nearly lost all faith. I’ve gotten joggers that were not at all big enough to wear high waisted as well as those that were much too long. It seemed like no matter what size I ordered they just didn’t fit right. From the moment I tore away the plastic packaging, I knew these joggers were different. The fabric is a little bit stretchy and very silky – but not clingy. I really don’t know how to properly describe them – other than to say they are P E R F E C T.

I’m wearing a size 22 and they can be worn two ways: high waisted or at the regular waist. I plan to wear them both ways and because I’m 5’4, wearing them a little high waisted creates the perfect ankle pant-like length which is so on trend right now. They have pockets and a very nice tailored elastic waist which stayed in place all day. Whether you pair them with a crop top or a tucked-in blouse, you will be extremely comfortable and cool all day long. The fabric is so lightweight – I will be wearing them all summer long without breaking a sweat [ok, I might sweat a little if its like 120 out]. If you buy one pair of joggers this year – buy these.
