Powerful

Any fashionista knows that clothing can be powerful. Whether you need your outfit to match how your feeling on the inside or to inspire you to elicit courage, the right outfit sometimes makes all the difference. I’ve left home feeling confident only to find out that a piece doesn’t fit right as I turn a corner and see my reflection in a storefront window. Fit is so important – and for me, my plans for the day determine if I’m wearing something more fitted or more loose. Being dressed appropriately for the occasion helps me to feel confident, when I engage with people. If you’re struggling with self esteem – try taking special care to make sure you are both comfortable in your clothes and happy with how they look [and that is advice straight from my very loving and wise Grandmother].

This set is not only gorgeous for a day to night look, as I’ve styled it, but the pieces work really well individually too! It makes me feel powerful and sexy and I think its perfect for day or night. I love that it can look like a dress or if you’re daring, you can even show a little skin [see below]. I love it with pearls and a brooch, or even with a blazer, for a more sophisticated look. Don’t be surprised when you see me wear this outfit all year long because the fabric is very good quality and has a nice weight to it – its not heavy, but its not super lightweight either.
