My guy and I love to hike, explore new places and be outdoors. Our schedules conflict so much so that we rarely do these things. We all know “exercise gives you endorphins and endorphins make you happy” but for me, that doesn’t always translate to a regular gym schedule. This weekend, we went for a little jog (I mostly go really slow) and hiked one of our favorite easy trails at Papago Park. In preparation for the afternoon, I went to check out the new Livi Active collection at Lane Bryant.
When I work out, I like to be natural but still cute so that means I’m makeup free but I’m still wearing earrings. I choose active wear that is black or gray with bright details, that way the pieces generally match each other and I don’t have to spend too much time making sure the outfit is right. I wouldn’t wear loose pig tails for a really strenuous workout, but they’re perfect for a little hike when you’re going with your guy and you want to remind him how feminine and polished you are.
I bought these capri length cotton-spandex workout shorts from Lane Bryant last year [similar]. They fit incredibly well and are my favorite workout bottoms to date. I’m wearing a size 18/20. I really hope to see them again this summer. The top is from the new Livi Active collection [buy it here]. I’m wearing a size 22/24 in the top because I wanted it to fit well and not ride up when I’m moving. And – news flash – it stayed in place the entire afternoon! My sports bra is also from last year, but this is another adorable option. The earrings are very dainty and I think they are the perfect size for a day-hike with your boo [available here]. This adorable tote was a birthday gift from my fabulous long-time-bestie’s mom. Because its a lightweight canvas material, it holds my essentials [water, wallet and camera], and is the perfect accessory for a little day hike with my favorite man. The shoes are literally the most comfortable workout shoes I have ever purchased- they are Asics and were recommended after I had a digital foot scan – but more on that another day.
I did a little shoe shopping for you; see my top three:
Also, I talked about these sunglasses here.
We climbed up one of the hills and stood hand in hand watching the sunset. The climb back down in the dark was only a little scary, but luckily, he walked ahead and made sure we were safe. What is your favorite thing to do with your boo?
