From Lust to LOVE

I’ve been crushing on Kate Spade New York clothing and accessories for eons…or rather since about 2007 when I first laid eyes on the nylon handbag. Since then, I’ve drooled, and drooled AND DROOLED over the apparel- of which I’ve never been able to fit into. We’ll talk about my handbag & jewelry collection another day.

A month or so ago, I was looking like a total Maralyn while out shopping with my very own Audrey. We stopped by our favorite place on earth – the Kate Spade Outlet near Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, AZ. On the clearance rack, we spotted this gorgeous cotton dress and I took the leap and tried it on.

What happened in the dressing room was pure joy. The dress fit just as beautifully as I could have hoped and I just about died. First of all, the dress is an XL – which KSNY deems a size 14, so the mere fact that it fit was a shock. Then, not only did it fit, but it was on some kind of super sale! When the lovely SA told me the charge was under $50, I almost cried.

When I took the dress home, I hung it and practically prayed to it… Its been hanging in my closet up until recently when I decided to pull it out for a lunch date – and who better to match it with than my new KSNY bag?!

Crystal and I went for lunch at Republic of Noodles where she insisted I try Phō. Luckily, it was just as yummy as promised.

As we left the restaurant, I begged her to snap this photo so I could show you the gorgeous trench I wore on top of this dress. This trench coat is from London Fog – in a size 2x and it fits like an absolute dream.

What a great find — I’m an absolute Kate Spade fanatic.
I’ve fallen into the bad habit of being controlled by number sizes — I never try on anything that’s smaller than “my size” because I assume it won’t fit. This is inspiring me to pay less attention to the number and give things a try anyways! You never know!
